Rozen Maiden

This seriocomic anime show details the psychological reawakening of a beleaguered boy named Jun Sakurado, a traumatized outcast who one day receives a message that he's won a prize. Jun's prize, it turns out, is a living doll, one who must compete in the deadly Alice Game with others of her kind if she hopes to meet "Father," the man who made her and provides her with a soul, so that she may become a full-fledged human being. Slowly but surely, over the course of numerous bizarre adventures, these two unlikely friends help each other face their respective fears and realize their full potentials.
