Circle Us (2010) (S05E07)

English This time, I didn't have to put up with any pointless chit-chat. The creators delivered an engaging storyline that kept me hooked, with both Dexter's personal storyline and the department's new murder case offering plenty of entertainment. ()

Take It! (2010) (S05E08)

English This episode didn't quite match the adrenaline rush of its predecessor, but it still had me hooked. Chase's seminar brought back memories of witnessing similar human manipulation at a certain unnamed company event (fine, it was Amway), adding an intriguing layer to the formation of a new dynamic duo. ()

Teenage Wasteland (2010) (S05E09)

English Despite its heavy emphasis on family drama, which included a particularly cheeky brat, this piece managed to surprise me. Against my expectations, it all came together quite nicely, earning a solid five-star rating from me. ()

In the Beginning (2010) (S05E10)

English The screenwriter smartly cut out the unnecessary chatter and honed in on what truly defines Dexter, for which I'm thankful. The episode had a fantastic pace, and I was hooked on both the police investigation and the dynamic duo's quest for revenge. No dull moments here — I had an absolute blast. ()

Hop a Freighter (2010) (S05E11)

English Dexter's unexpected romantic interludes caught me off guard but didn't dampen my enjoyment. The atmosphere was top-notch, with tension that kept me hooked and just the right dose of action. ()

The Big One (2010) (S05E12)

English I had to dock a star due to Dexter's gradual emotional development. I'm missing the cold cynic who used to provide a dry commentary on the events. ()

Season 6 (2011) (S06)

English The sixth season was a bit unbalanced. Personally, I like serial killers who believe they are led by a higher power, because it supports my view of religion. What I had an issue with was the character of Brother Sam and his search for light. All that religious claptrap, twisting everything to fit a particular passage in the Bible was really annoying. I wasn’t overly enthusiastic about daddy Dexter either, but each time he managed to get rid of his kid for a while, the fun began. ()

Those Kinds of Things (2011) (S06E01)

English What a blast. The episode seamlessly blended police procedural with Dexter's unique hobby, and sprinkled in some humor courtesy of Dexter's high school reunion. Colin Hanks slid into the villain role effortlessly, just like he did years ago. ()

Once Upon a Time... (2011) (S06E02)

English The episode carried forward much of what I enjoyed from the previous one. However, I couldn't help but notice the absence of the humor that kept me entertained last time. Instead, we got a crash course on finding God, which didn't quite hit the mark for me. ()

Smokey and the Bandit (2011) (S06E03)

English With the philosophical musings on God taking a back seat, I found myself fully immersed in Dexter's world once again. The creators dialed up the storytelling, delivering a gripping atmosphere packed with action and suspense. Plus, grumpy Walter provided some much-needed comic relief. This episode easily earns a solid five stars from me. ()

A Horse of a Different Color (2011) (S06E04)

English The plot managed to hold my interest, thankfully distracting me from Sam's increasingly enlightened speeches. I must admit, though, I do miss Dexter's wry commentary on the chaos unfolding around him. Thankfully, desperate Masuka stepped up to keep the humor alive. ()

The Angel of Death (2011) (S06E05)

English This episode took a different turn, leaning more into dialogue rather than action and moving the investigation forward. Personally, it didn't quite hit the mark for me. Brother Sam's enlightened wisdom grated on my nerves a bit. If I wanted a sermon, I'd hit up Sunday mass, though I'm not sure they'd welcome me with open arms. My godlessness might just shatter their stained glass and rattle the foundations. ()

Just Let Go (2011) (S06E06)

English Definitely a step-up compared to the last episode. I could feel the story picking up speed right from the start. Sure, Brother Sam threw a bit of a wrench in the works, slowing things down momentarily, but I rolled with it this time, appreciating the overall development. Plus, Quinn brought in some much-needed humor, playing his role with effortless charm, giving me a good chuckle along the way. ()

Nebraska (2011) (S06E07)

English Dexter's trip to Nebraska was anything but dull; it actually brought a grin to my face, taking me back to the antics of the previous season and reminding me that you've got to use the right tool for the job... There was just one glaring flaw — the plot felt somewhat unnecessary, almost like it was just filling the quota of twelve episodes for the season. ()

Sin of Omission (2011) (S06E08)

English Aside from a few intriguing moments, the episode felt rather unremarkable. Some of the plotlines were dragging on, bordering on soap opera territory, which didn't quite fit the vibe I expect from Dexter. ()

Get Gellar (2011) (S06E09)

English The story picked up pace, and I found myself more engaged with the plot compared to the previous episode. That said, I've seen the creators do better in terms of captivating storytelling. The nod to King's "Carrie" felt a bit like a rip-off, but hey, the ending did have its charm. ()

Ricochet Rabbit (2011) (S06E10)

English The only thing I was missing was Dexter’s trademark dry commentary on what was happening. That said, the atmosphere was spot-on, the tension was palpable, and there was enough action to keep me hooked. ()

Talk to the Hand (2011) (S06E11)

English This episode felt a bit weaker. The plot wasn’t terrible by any means; it just didn’t grip me as tightly as the previous one. Nonetheless, there were some new developments, and boredom was kept at bay. ()

This Is the Way the World Ends (2011) (S06E12)

English The season finale left me with mixed feelings. It had all the elements I adore about this series — the creators nailed the atmosphere, packed the episode with just the right amount of tension and action. However, at times, the plot felt a tad too convoluted for my taste. But the ending was flawless. ()

Season 7 (2012) (S07)

English The creators managed to connect all the important storylines quite well. On the other hand, I was annoyed by Dexter's emotional development, which ruined my final impression. If there had been less of the romantic plot, I would have been more convinced about the five-star rating. 5*- ()
