Are You...? (2012) (S07E01)

English It was probably the first time when I enjoyed conversations more than the main character's secret hobby in Dexter (well, even though it was a secret...). I enjoyed watching how Debra slowly worked her way to the final realization, and dealing with another killer felt more like a disruptive element this time. And even in this case, the creators didn't avoid a strange Ukrainian name. Kaja? Hmm, I guess the actors wouldn't manage Kate, I understand, those accents cause problems in English-speaking countries. ()

Sunshine and Frosty Swirl (2012) (S07E02)

English The second episode sympathetically followed the previous one, and it had a similar impact on me. Although a lot was happening, I perceived most of the events as high-quality additions to the main storyline. Once again, the interaction between Dexter and Deb was the main focus for me, and Deb's internal struggle was excellent. ()

Buck the System (2012) (S07E03)

English The seventh season so far is carried in the right spirit. Even on the third attempt, the creators have thoroughly pleased me, although this time I was mainly interested in the events around Louise and the hunt for Ray Speltzer, and the relationship between Debra and Dexter in this case was more of a complement to the events. ()

Run (2012) (S07E04)

English For the first time in the seventh season, I went with a rating of less than five stars because the episode didn't leave as strong of an impression on me as the previous ones. I was mainly disappointed with the resolution of Ray Speltzer's case; after the gradual development, I expected something more elaborate. ()

Swim Deep (2012) (S07E05)

English Despite the fact that, apart from shooting at the bar, the episode didn't really feature much action, I found it surprisingly entertaining. The creators cleverly complicated the plot with additional subplots, and I also hadn't praised them for casting Hannah McKay until now, so I am doing it now, during her third appearance. Yvonne Strahovski looks very good to me. ()

Do the Wrong Thing (2012) (S07E06)

English The sixth episode was not action-packed in any way, but the vast majority of conversations were not boring, instead they were relevant. I was entertained throughout the entire time, only the ending confused me a bit. When Dexter stabs someone, it usually results in death, but here there were multiple stabbings and nobody died. Furthermore, Dexter showed a significant amount of emotions for a sociopath. ()

Chemistry (2012) (S07E07)

English I have found myself in a truly paradoxical situation. While I was pleased with the character Hannah McKay (not just because of Yvonne Strahovski), her relationship with Dexter displeases me completely because the titular character, who was emotionally deprived and cynical, is starting to change into someone completely different, and I don't think that's good. ()

Argentina (2012) (S07E08)

English When it comes to evaluating episodes of this series, I was unsure whether to give it four or five pieces. Lately, I have started to lean towards three or four stars. Why? Because Dexter's cynical comments have practically disappeared and the number of romantic scenes has dangerously increased. However, if I can praise someone, it is Titus Pullo; I believed his Isaac. ()

Helter Skelter (2012) (S07E09)

English The ninth episode was definitely better than the previous two parts, was it with a larger amount of spilled blood and a higher average of bodies per episode? And if so, what does it say about me? To be honest, I don't really care, I was mainly satisfied that the episode had a nice pace and atmosphere and that the story moved forward nicely. ()

The Dark... Whatever (2012) (S07E10)

English The tenth episode was very successful, and under different circumstances, I would rate it with five stars. However, I am annoyed by Dexter succumbing to romantic emotions. My favorite has simply become a heartless killer for whom interpersonal relationships were an absolute mystery. ()

Do You See What I See? (2012) (S07E11)

English The situation from the previous episode repeated itself. The plot was very interesting this time as well, had a quality atmosphere, didn't lack tension or action, and yet I couldn't go through four pieces. The reason was (just like in the previous episode) the emotional development of the main character. ()

Surprise, Motherfucker! (2012) (S07E12)

English I couldn't deny the fifth star to the final episode of the seventh season; I would have been very unfair. I think the conclusion of the series was really well done by the creators, I found several twists in it, and as an invitation to watch the eighth season, it worked perfectly. ()

Season 8 (2013) (S08)

English The final season was the worst that the creators offered in those eight years. For the first time, I was bored, which is something I wasn't used to with Dexter. The character of Dr. Evelyn Vogel was inserted into the story so awkwardly that the writers should be concerned about meeting their “number one fan,” and I might even root for Annie this time. Another thing that made me angry was the totally cop-out ending, in which all evil was punished like in a proper Disney fairy tale. ()

A Beautiful Day (2013) (S08E01)

English Warning, the following comment contains vulgarities!! How can a series, which has decent potential even in its eighth season, and a screenwriter who still enjoys his work, be ruined? By the shit-covered hypocrites from the studio management deciding to apply the amazing censorship Made in USA. I could try to find understanding if the series fell into Disney's brainwashers, but like this... Because that censoring asshole was American, we can't see what people normally have under their clothes, and Debřina's spoken speech becomes a torso, making her character seem like a severe retard, yet food carving applied to the human brain is perfectly fine. I was fucking pissed off and had to compensate for what the censor idiotically retouched here. The episode itself wasn't bad at all, and I would rate it four pieces, but two stars fell because of the dumb censor and the idiots who paid him. ()

Every Silver Lining... (2013) (S08E02)

English The second episode of the eighth season has left me with conflicting feelings. On one hand, it filled me with enthusiasm due to the absence of censorship, but on the other hand, I couldn't shake the impression that it was somewhat uninteresting (except for some moments). ()

What's Eating Dexter Morgan? (2013) (S08E03)

English I can't help it, but the eighth season hasn't convinced me too much so far. Its best part was the first one, although it had the best script, censorship turned it into a farce. The second and third episodes were quite similar, not very interesting, and the repeated dives into Debora's psyche are starting to get a bit boring. ()

Scar Tissue (2013) (S08E04)

English No matter how hard I try, I just can't get into the eighth season. I don't enjoy the character of Dr. Evelyn Vogel, her sudden appearance upset me, and the investigation of the killer with a cookie cutter is not the best thing the script has brought so far. And the ending of the fourth episode was really weird. ()

This Little Piggy (2013) (S08E05)

English I assume that the intention of the creators was to evoke a sense of tension in me with the fifth part, but what used to work without any problems in previous seasons stopped working. The tension did not arise, possibly because I couldn't care less about Dr. Vogel's fate, so why should I stress out. ()

A Little Reflection (2013) (S08E06)

English No, it really doesn't work anymore, so I added the third star out of pure nostalgia. Dexter behaved like someone who should be urgently stripped of their judgment, and the whole episode gave me the impression that a similar hack took over the script, which ruined it for me just like they did with The Walking Dead. ()

Dress Code (2013) (S08E07)

English To my own surprise, the creators allowed me to give a fourth star to an episode after a long time. The plot of the seventh episode was not boring, as it was with previous episodes; there was a significant decrease in psychological sessions, and at times, I even had the feeling that the screenwriter remembered what the earlier seasons were about.
