Welcome to the brave new world of offshore call centers, where thousands of young Indians make a living providing customer service to people in Kentucky, California or Idaho. To fit American business hours they work their 14-hour shifts during the nights. By telephone and internet they transport themselves to other continents, while the chance of their bodies ever leaving the country is almost nil. John & Jane takes us into the lives of six call-center agents in Mumbai. They dye their hair, use westernized New Age rituals to find themselves and dream of an All-American life, while they sleep away their days in the tropical heat of India.
