Plots(1)

The commissioned work for the Electrical Works of the Capital City of Prague is an exception amongst Svatopluk Inneman's other films. The work can be, in certain respects, considered part of the so-called city symphony genre, created in the 20's and at the beginning of the 30's, for example in Germany, the Soviet Union or the United States of America. Prague Illuminated by Millions of Lights does not reach the formal courage of Ruttman's Berlin, A Symphony of a Metropolis or even Dziga Vertov's work, nevertheless it is still a vey interesting piece of film art, which presents night Prague as a thriving metropolis that never sleeps.
