Plots(1)

It's the story of Ned, a lonely pie maker whose touch can reanimate the dead. Cool, but there's a hitch. If Ned touches the person again, the miracle is reversed. If he doesn't, a bystander goes toes up. What to do? Easy: Team with a private eye, bring murder victims back just long enough to discover whodunit, and collect the rewards. Things go well until Ned's boyhood sweetie is the next dear departed, and he can't resist bringing her back for keeps! (official distributor synopsis)

Pushing Daisies (2007)

English This series, which was fatefully affected by the writers' strike, is a true combination of Tim Burton and Ed Wood. Essentially, it amounts to a series of stand-alone detective stories refreshed with an original "method." The presence of the narrator is nice, as is the gradual mapping of the main characters' pasts. ()

Season 1 (2007) (S01)

English Visually it's a treat, and the actors do their best. Anna Friel, Jakubisko’s Bathory, reigns supreme, never having to prove how high level her acting is, and can only be enjoyed to the fullest. In hindsight, the replay value is amazing, because while it's clear that the main story won't leave your brain, the details of each case will be something new each time. ()

Season 2 (2008) (S02)

English What is interesting is the development from episodic cases to a plot with more grip at the end of Season 2, which I liked by far the most. And the rushed finale? If every canceled series had such a well-closed ending, we could only congratulate ourselves. It's just a pity that the sequel in the form of a comic book has rested on its laurels. After all, for a show I've been following for six years, I won't forget that one right away. ()
