So, the finale of this rather lackluster season turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Even though it was all about relationships again, I surprisingly liked it. Why? This season was a tiny bit better than the previous one. The finale even gave me hope that the creators might realize where they have been going wrong for so long. Then again, I'm quite worried about Season 12 when I imagine that there will be a happy ending for the rest of the cast, too. / Lesson learned: No matter how bad it is, it can always get a little worse. I was bracing myself for more disappointment, but the second episode turned out to be a pleasant surprise. It took a break from the relationship drama and instead was about killing and reviving physics. The episode left me pretty much yawning, and the only highlight was multiSheldon at the end. I found myself oddly pleased by Bernadette's pregnancy. Episode four didn't exactly hit it out of the park, but it was an upgrade from the last one. Dr. Beverly brought some much-needed entertainment, especially in her chats with Penny and Leonard gave me a chuckle. But the real stars were Sheldon doing his usual thing and, unexpectedly, Howard. / Lesson learned: Don't worry; even an explosion can be a good result. The episode delivered a surprisingly solid plot. Yeah, relationships took center stage again, and there was another mention of Halley, but she fortunately threw up on an Ewok and saved the day. Arthur Jeffries is hands down the most frequently returning character. While I appreciate Bob Newhart's portrayal, I gotta admit, the character's becoming a bit repetitive – feels like they're dangling him in front of us to keep us hooked. Honestly, I couldn't care less about the romantic drama and the Wolowitz family expansion. What cracked me up in this episode was Penny helping out. / Lesson learned: Children force you to make sacrifices. (08/25/2022)

The comedy-to-boredom ratio has remained the same for the last five seasons — just a sprinkle of humor drowned in a sea of dull moments. I liked the Tesla-Edison development, but the other stuff didn't exactly blow me away. The creators decided to compensate for their lack of imagination with some time travel gimmick, and I wasn't buying it. Plus, it seems they forgot what they wrote because in the previous season, Penny was to blame for Leonard's flash drive disappearance, but now it didn't jive with the story. / Lesson learned: Got memory issues? The episode wasn't exceptionally good but I liked how the wedding duties were split up, and surprisingly, Dr. Rajesh Koothrappali and his faithful sidekick Howard didn't bug me this time. Some positives, for sure, but overall, the episode didn't bring much to the table. / Lesson learned: Less is more. Plus, it's cheaper. (08/26/2022)

Seriously, what the heck was that?! The only thing that reminded me of my once-favorite series was the interior of Stuart's comic book store. Sheldon went full-on lovebird, Leonard and Penny were practically invisible, and Raj and Howard teamed up to get on my nerves. / Lesson learned: If you like historical authenticity, don't forget about the plague. The twelfth episode was a tad better than the last one. It threw in an unexpected competition, and even though it was wedding-themed, it still managed to bring a bit of entertainment. I was far from satisfied but I threw in an extra star for the school experiments and Penny's dive into theoretical physics. However, the other stuff didn't quite hold my attention, even with a character making a comeback. The episode stuck to the standards the creators have been pushing since the series' second half. It's been all about relationships – the long-term ones with serious consequences like marriage and kids, and the short-term ones that lead nowhere. This time around, they focused on a short-term relationship, with Sheldon and neurotic Leonard providing some entertainment at least. Nothing special overall. / Lesson learned: Keep the door locked. This episode caught me off guard. Not because it was mind-blowing, but because, for once at this stage in the series, the creators actually managed to give me a decent dose of entertainment on both fronts. I'm glad that Professor Proton is no longer synonymous with Arthur Jeffries, and Leonard's literary creation spoke for itself. / Lesson learned: Don't create literary characters based on real people who can physically harm you. Here we go again. The episode was all about the last stage of Bernadette's pregnancy - pure torture for me. Nobody in Bernadette's support team managed to crack a joke that could grab my interest. Once again, Sheldon was the lone ranger holding the fort, launching a pretty impressive attack on Egypt. / Lesson learned: No vacation plans? Why don't you invade North Africa? (08/27/2022)

Just another run-of-the-mill episode that didn't exactly bum me out but I wasn't blown away by it either. Curiously, Sheldon didn't stand out this time, but Howard and Bernadette managed to bring some amusement — totally unexpected. / Lesson learned: Sacrifice yourself for the sake of friendship.
