Nightwish: End of an Era

It is October 21, 2005 and this is the final show of their world tour on home ground in the sold-out Hartwall Arena in Helsinki. The last and best recorded concert by this group in their original line up. But only four of the five band members knew about it. An amazing visual show, lots of great guest artists and alternating the well-known and loved hits with numbers from their most recent album. It falls slightly short of absolute perfection, but it still contains a little something that makes you play this again, turn the volume button right up and drive the neighbors wild. A more than decent farewell to a band which, at least in its beginnings, managed to breathe some fresh air back into the metal music scene. An outstanding concert that has something to offer not just for fans of the band, but also for those who don’t know their records. (01/03/2008)
