ALWAYS - Sunset on Third Street has returned to the screen following calls for a sequel. The story begins in the spring of 1959 (Showa 34), 4 months after the last film. As Tokyo becomes a venue for the next Olympic Games, Japan is about to enter an age of economical growth. However, although tmes may change, the people who live in Tokyo don't. Chagawa, who lives with Junnosuke, continues to think of Hiromi after her departure. Norifumi - head of the Suzuki household - dreams of Suzuki Auto becoming the largest company in Japan. Not to forget the many other people who live on Rhird Street. The heartwarming sotry proceeds watched over by the completed Tokyo Tower. (official distributor synopsis)
