Gang Busters made its start - and its mark - on the radio waves in 1936, later becoming a highly-rated television show. Acclaimed by audiences nationwide, Gang Busters was broadcast for twenty-one consecutive years until 1957 when it finally went off the air. Show ideas for both the radio and television series were taken from actual police and FBI files and featured some of America's most notorious criminals like John Dillinger and the Barker gang. The popular radio show that became a landmark television series was one of the earliest "cop-dramas" ever made. With its violent, gritty realism, the series is credited with paving the way for today's law enforcement reality shows. (Echo Bridge Entertainment)
