"You look like a man, you're not cute," customers say, as a compliment of course. Millions of people wander under Tokyo's neon lights, and among them are Gaish, Kazuki and Tatsu – the hosts in the New Marilyn Club. The three look like men, but biologically they are all women. Taking hormone injections or tying breasts flat are everyday life. Even with identities considered marginal it is hard to escape labelling – for even these are always both special and ordinary at the same time. Tii Starck / Translation: Asta Mykkänen (DocPoint)
