Hold Me Tight, Let Me Go

The Mulberry Bush private school is the last opportunity for its primary school -aged pupils with special needs to adjust to normal school life. Kim Longinotto observes a school year during which new pupils arrive while others move forward. In the midst of spitting, verbal abuse and physical bashings the patience of the teachers can only be admired. The air is thick with tension, and an innocent play may get interrupted with a threat: "One day I'll kill you."
