English A decent television adaptation of the well-known novel by Charles Dickens. Antonín Moskalyk was an experienced director who knew how to handle this type of television production effortlessly. He chose the typecast Tereza Pokorná, who had a sufficiently childlike innocent and fragile appearance, and juxtaposed her with the cynicism of the moneylender played brilliantly by Ilja Racek and the equally exploitative lawyer played by Petr Kostka. Overall impression: 70%. ()
