When an underwater earthquake generates a tsunami that strikes Malibu, it bring with it a hunting pack of deep-water, prehistoric goblin sharks to the surface. although the beach is evacuated before the big wave strikes, a group of lifeguards and a crew of construction workers are stranded in the high water and have to fight the sharks to get to dry land. When the horror, thriller, or sci-fi genre doesn't work, adding comedy to the mix might actually make Mega Shark of Malibu work. When it comes to horror I want to be scared, with a thriller I want to be almost breathless with suspense, and with science fiction, I want to marvel at the mysteries of the universe. I didn't feel any of those things while watching this film, and I just had to chuckle at times at the incredibly stupid script. (20%)
