Suave secret agent Sterling Archer is the world's most dangerous spy, but political intrigue and global crises are nothing compared to the sexual tension and human resources crises at the intelligence agency where he works. Archer must deal with his over-bearing, over-sexed mother--who is also his boss--and his femme fatale ex-girlfriend who seems to be sleeping with everyone except him. Embezzlement, mind control, hangovers, and demented double crossings--they're all in a day's work in this outrageously raunchy comedy! (official distributor synopsis)

Season 1 (2009) (S01)

English Season 1 was very satisfying to watch. True, there were a few dull moments, most of them in the weaker Episode 8, but otherwise it was great fun. The creators used the kind of humor that most people avoid, namely the politically incorrect kind, with which they immediately won me over. The amoral, constantly wisecracking Sterling Archer (Duchess) instantly became one of my favorite animated characters. ()

Mole Hunt (2009) (S01E01)

English I expected a lot, but the first episode still surprised me. Sterling Archer is the nightmare of every hardcore feminist. Even I found him incredibly self-centered, and I'm a guy! Nevertheless, it was a blast, and I can't wait to see how it develops. ()

Training Day (2010) (S01E02)

English A fantastic episode. The creators expertly poke fun at "taboo" topics and throw political correctness out the window, where it belongs. I also learned something new — I had no idea that a call girl turns into a hooker when she's dead. ()

Diversity Hire (2010) (S01E03)

English The arrival of Agent Conway Stern really spiced up the episode. Sterling Archer's logic was hilarious — if he can be circumcised without being Jewish, why can't a Jew be uncircumcised? The creators are doing a fantastic job keeping me entertained, and I hope they keep it up. ()

Killing Utne (2010) (S01E04)

English Honestly, Mr. Utne was a bit of a buzzkill, so this episode didn’t hit the comedic highs of the previous ones. However, the sheer number of death plots felt like Rasputin was the guest of honor. A slightly weaker episode, but still solid overall. ()

Honeypot (2010) (S01E05)

English Sterling's newfound understanding with his target, his butler's surprisingly social nature, and the pair of gay assassins all pushed the plot up to a five-star rating. 5*- ()

Skorpio (2010) (S01E06)

English Episode six started off quietly with a mission to secure guided missiles and Cyril's inner turmoil (jealousy, insecurity, and low self-esteem). But things quickly spiraled into relationship chaos, explosive sexuality, and, in one case, a pretty twisted incident involving a wooden spoon. ()

Skytanic (2010) (S01E07)

English Even though the episode was set on a luxury airship instead of a yacht, the creators stuck to the winning formula from the last episode and delivered another fantastic web of relationships. I can't help but laugh twice as hard after each episode, just imagining the horrified faces of all the self-righteous moralists watching this show. ()

The Rock (2010) (S01E08)

English ISIS goes on strike, and while the idea had potential, the execution didn’t quite hit the mark for me. This felt like the weakest episode so far. The focus on the strike sidelined the main, entertaining characters, which meant the humor took a hit. ()

Job Offer (2010) (S01E09)

English What a relief! After the previous weaker episode, this one was back to top form. With Sterling and Lana back in the spotlight, the humor instantly ramped up, and all the awkward moments vanished. I had a blast watching it. If an episode of Archer leaves my sides aching from laughter, it's an easy five stars. ()

Dial M for Mother (2010) (S01E10)

English The final episode did not disappoint. The opening scene was fantastic, with the ban on workplace relationships (starting Friday) being a great touch. Lana dealing with the treacherous Cyril was even better, and Pam finally got her moment (thankfully off-screen). The reconciliation between Archer and his mother was a perfect ending. Great episode! ()

Season 2 (2011) (S02)

English I was worried that after Season 1 someone would consider the incorrect humor to be way out of line and tone it down, but nothing of the sort happened. On the contrary, the cancer episodes went even further and were excellent :-) So I don’t need to worry about Season 3, I'm just looking forward to it. Everything I liked about the first season was there and a few great ideas were added, so five stars it is. ()

Swiss Miss (2011) (S02E01)

English Snowy Swiss Alps, wild snowmobile chases, even wilder gunfights, hot tub orgies, and a sixteen-year-old virgin nymphomaniac — what more could you want from a twenty-minute animated episode? A hefty dose of politically incorrect humor, of course, and this episode delivered that too. Definitely a full five stars. ()

A Going Concern (2011) (S02E02)

English A complete departure from the first episode, with much less action, yet it kept me entertained the whole time. Dr. Krieger is quickly becoming one of my favorite characters. If it were up to me, I'd definitely give him more screen time. ()

Blood Test (2011) (S02E03)

English I was a bit on the fence with this episode — it didn't quite grab me. I was leaning towards a solid three stars, but the twist with the blood sample swap, and especially Cyril enjoying himself even while unconscious, bumped my rating up a notch. ()

Pipeline Fever (2011) (S02E04)

English Objectively, the fourth episode was a bit weaker. The opening scene on the plane was hilarious, the budget cuts had me laughing, and Lana's monologue about dry ice caught me off guard, even though I'm from a mining region. ()

The Double Deuce (2011) (S02E05)

English Quite a different episode. It wasn't really about ISIS; instead, it focused almost entirely on Woodhouse and his memories of the Great War, which sometimes reminded me of Legends of the Fall. Since I read several Biggles books as a kid, I can't rate this one lower than four stars. ()

Tragical History (2011) (S02E06)

English A great episode. I honestly can't see how ISIS could function with brainiacs like Sterling and Cyril in their ranks. For some reason, I kept expecting a Nespresso ad the whole time. ()

Movie Star (2011) (S02E07)

English I won’t lie, despite plenty of action, I didn’t enjoy this episode as much as I expected. I was ready to give it just three stars until the very end. But that mumbled conclusion really made me laugh. 4* ()

Stage Two (2011) (S02E08)

English The dark humor had the cynic in me purring with delight. Filmmakers often use this topic to tug at the viewers' heartstrings, so this episode was a refreshing breath of air in an otherwise stale landscape. The standout line was definitely, "Did I mention I have cancer?" and the phone calls with the doctor were perfect. ()
