The first Australian feature directed by an Aboriginal woman is an extraordinary cycle of three horror stories. A monster living in the quicksand prowls passers-by, an invisible train chugs past a house in the desert, and lovers that died tragically haunt in a storehouse. These stories are a playful blend of generic conventions which provides a meta-narrative of how indigenous and non-indigenous Australians understand and live with each other.
