Confrontation is an adaptation of the novel “The Green-Eyed Monster” (1960) published under the pseudonym Patrick Quentin. Adaptations of three of Quentin’s stories were shown by Czechoslovak Television during the so-called normalization period. The director of a trading company receives a series of anonymous letters with identical wording: “You are the only one in New York who doesn't know about your wife.” He begins to suspect his beautiful young wife, who is behaving rather strangely, of infidelity. It doesn’t take too long before tragedy strikes. (Noir Film Festival)
