Plots(1)

This allegoric story, played in the form of a mystery play, takes place in Transdanubia, in the summer of 1919, during the days of the fall of the Hungarian Soviet Republic. In the struggle of the Red and White, one kills the other relentlessly. The Red release the epileptic and fanatic father Vargha, fearing the wrath of the strongly religious village population. The priest wants blood and he organises a retaliation detachment quoting the Bible. The liturgy of manslaughter becomes ever wickeder when the White Power no longer needs the father and kills him. Vitézkötéses (the man with the lace frog) and Hegedüs (the Violinist) leave to continue putting things in order somewhere else. (official distributor synopsis)
