Filmmaker Wim van der Aar stumbles upon a bag full of audio tapes at a flea market in Amsterdam. They turn out to be a collection of private recordings made in the 1970s by one Guido van Waveren, the youngest son of an influential Dutch family. The find sets Van der Aar off on a journey into Van Waveren's tragic life story, filled with relationships, failure, hope and sorrow. Slowly but surely, the outlines of a bizarre upbringing and its dramatic consequences begin to unfold. (International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam)
