Plots(1)

A bigot mother forces her ten-year-old son Martin to go to religion courses, to love God and serve as an altar boy in the local church. Martin, however, encounters hypocrisy at every step and sees that sinful acts remain unpunished. His father steals planks from the construction site, his brother secretly steals money from their family money box, and his classmate Kovajs also sins deliberately. This and other things severely undermine Martin's belief in God. He is supposed to serve as the acolyte at an upcoming mass on May 1 but instead he wishes to go with other pioneers to the downtown against his mother's will. (JuniorFest)
