Frozen

Frozen is a wonderful adaptation of one of the most famous fairy tale classics that is incredibly funny, brisk, visually rich and with a nice soundtrack. The reindeer and Olaf the snowman serve a similar function to Donkey, Dory, Scrat and the Minions - to entertain, which they do to great effect. The most impressive scene for me was the sequence accompanied by the song Let It Go, both visually and musically. Oddly enough, I also got caught up in the peripeteia regarding the main villain, which gives the film another plus for me. In short, an animated film that's really nice to watch, and doesn't push the envelope so much with its lecturing, which is definitely not a bad thing. (02/12/2014)

The 53rd Disney Feature Film After years of avoiding the whole Frozen phenomenon, I finally have to admit that as a Disney film, this is an enjoyable watch. The main theme is about the power of the sisterly bond, which is refreshing. The two main characters are interestingly written, and the new concept of female characters who are independent is overall a nice touch. The stylization into Andersen's Scandinavia is also successful. I'm curious about the new direction of Disney's world. New cartoons really don't have to be just for girls and boys, because it's a win if the whole family has fun. (06/06/2019)

I’m not claiming that animated films for kids should be supported by a logically bulletproof story, but bugger me, if I’m already squeezing such a complicated plot, I would make damn sure that it makes sense at least within its basic framework, but in Frozen I said WTF way too often. Yet I won’t deny that I had some solid popcorn fun. Officially, only three stars for the film, the fourth is for “Let It Go” :-) (01/19/2014)

While it's more of a feel-good musical than a children's story full of plot and classical themes, Disney hasn't done this well with a similarly-tuned fairy tale in a long time. Regardless, it's really something to watch, the animation is perfect, the story is suspenseful, the characters are adorable to beautiful (the girls are really good) and the humour is just the right kind to suit any pompous critic with an icicle up their ass. And the music, which usually bothers me elsewhere, was really charming and good this time. The best animated flick of the year, that’s very clear... 80% (01/31/2014)

I kind of think that it must be the musical aspect of Frozen that overshadows all else. Precisely because of it I was looking forward to this movie and in the end it is just this musical aspect that makes this movie somewhat good. The animation is just average. On top of that, for a fairy tale, the story line is quite confusing. (12/25/2019)
