Dinner for Seven (2016) (S04E11)

English It is true that I don't really worry about other people's emotions, but when they almost dissected poor Don at the party, I caught myself feeling really sorry for him. This time, working on Don was more of a depressing part, but the thrilling conclusion shifted everything to a completely different level. ()

A Roy Rogers in Franconia (2016) (S04E12)

English In the twelfth episode, the creators once again expanded and started several storylines, assuming that they will have an impact on the fifth season, so I will patiently wait for their resolution. The tension is definitely rising and I expect to find out what happens to William in the final episode. ()

Persona Non Grata (2016) (S04E13)

English Yes, it was exactly as I suspected. Waiting for the fifth series is annoying. The thirteenth episode once again didn't lack tension, it had a fantastic atmosphere full of concerns, but instead of solutions, more questions arose. I'm really curious how the creators want to solve the situation with Michael, I can't imagine how he finds his way to his father with zero knowledge of the language. Well, we'll see... ()

Season 5 (2017) (S05)

English Season 5 is slightly worse than Season 4, but still a hands down five stars. I did notice that the creators focused more on planning and executing long-term operations, shifting away from action which only took up a portion of one episode (with one exception). The noticeable lack of action could have been a disaster if all the planning and dialogue hadn’t been so incredibly intriguing. When I think back on how many action scenes I saw over the course of thirteen episodes, I can’t believe how much fun I had. This goes to show that quality writing really matters. ()

Amber Waves (2017) (S05E01)

English Finally, I got to see more episodes! The first episode of the fifth season didn't excel in action, but it developed the themes introduced in the previous season and in the end showed that one can work for their country until their body breaks down. ()

Pests (2017) (S05E02)

English This time I didn't get what I'm used to from the Americans. The second part too much focused on family matters and relationships, and almost forgot about the important things. Regardless, I have a pretty clear idea now and I feel the urge to fill the can with acid, because I sense something suspicious in the background. ()

The Midges (2017) (S05E03)

English The third episode brought me what I enjoy again. I am starting to get used to the divided American-Soviet environment, which I couldn't get used to at first. The plot has significantly livened up compared to the previous episode, and additionally, I caught a glimpse of Martha, whom I actually didn't expect to see. ()

What's the Matter with Kansas? (2017) (S05E04)

English The fifth season is somewhat peculiar so far, excellent episodes alternate with episodes that are "just" good. This time I felt like I was watching the second part, the plot was indeed interesting, but something was simply missing. ()

Lotus 1-2-3 (2017) (S05E05)

English Exactly as I wrote in the previous comment, it's still up and down, this time I could give it full marks without hesitation, I liked the whole episode, even though it was mainly focused on human psychology. Very good episode. ()

Crossbreed (2017) (S05E06)

English That wouldn't be a coincidence, would it? If it's about a certain pattern, I should rate the next episode with five stars, I'm really curious. It's true that compared to some other series, this episode should also receive five stars, but I still expect more from Americans after all. They can do it themselves, they have already shown that they can. ()

Immersion (2017) (S05E08)

English The eighth episode unexpectedly disrupted my pattern for rating the fifth season, now it was supposed to be just four stars! Anyway, all those interviews and preparations captivated me so much that before I knew it, the closing credits rolled. I certainly wasn't bored, quite the opposite. ()

IHOP (2017) (S05E09)

English Another very solid episode that brought a lot of interesting information. Additionally, the creators once again put Martha into action, which pleased me because Alison Wright managed to convey maximum emotions in such a short time, and I believe her character without any problems. ()

Darkroom (2017) (S05E10)

English The atmosphere in this episode felt somewhat depressive, but I like that, so I enjoyed this episode. I am surprised that I didn't miss the action, which is less present in this season, but I remember that I was able to be captivated by weaponless Hunts as well, so why not? ()

Dyatkovo (2017) (S05E11)

English For the first time, the plot in the fifth season focuses entirely on a side mission, at the expense of all long-term missions. However, it turned out in the end that everything is connected, so it definitely wasn't unnecessary filler, the atmosphere was brilliantly tense, the ending was cool and harsh, and I enjoyed the episode. ()

The World Counsel of Churches (2017) (S05E12)

English The penultimate episode brought a great dark atmosphere and tension, clearly leading to the climax of several situations, but knowing the creators of this series, there will be a storyline extension into the sixth season, and I will once again wait and hope for a continuation for another year. Oh well... ()

The Soviet Division (2017) (S05E13)

English I was satisfied with the final episode of the fifth season, but my prediction was not confirmed, no storyline was concluded, not even partially, the Americans have not yet provided a more open season finale. It will be another wait... The only issue that was not shrouded in mist was the resolution of the situation regarding the move to the USSR. It was clear how it would turn out, I was just curious about the reasoning the creators would come up with, and I must admit it was satisfying. ()

Season 6 (2018) (S06)

English Well, I've spent six years with The Americans and I feel like I'm really going to miss them. I wasn’t thrilled about Season 6, only four episodes were worth five stars, but I wasn’t severely disappointed either. I think what bothered me the most was the unnecessary transformation of Elizabeth into a cold-hearted monster, when the creators had carefully built up both sides of her personality in the previous seasons. But it’s true that they managed to confuse me by that and the ending of the series was actually a surprise for me. ()

Dead Hand (2018) (S06E01)

English "The Americans" returned in great form with the first episode of the final season. The creators once again paid attention to the proper atmosphere, Arkady returned to the game (at least for a while), and the new development in the Jennings family really got to me. I hope that the ending won't be disappointing, like it was in Dexter. ()

Tchaikovsky (2018) (S06E02)

English The second episode did not please me too much. I am starting to have a dark suspicion about how the series creators will want to end it, and therefore they are quickly stripping Elizabeth of all the emotions she displayed in the previous five seasons. Well, I will quietly hope that I am mistaken. 4*- ()

Urban Transport Planning (2018) (S06E03)

English Something like this - the vast majority of things stayed great in Americans, but by Philip and Elizabeth practically living their own lives, a significant part of the quality atmosphere disappeared. Additionally, I can't help but feel that the creators are turning Elizabeth into a killing machine in the sixth season. Sure, the Jennings were never good guys, but they were still human beings, while Elizabeth is becoming a Terminator. 4* ()
