The Lament is a contemplative film without any dialogue. The short Turkish picture flows in a slow tempo, and it offers numerous long shots of the elements of nature. It follows individual members of a family who are dealing with a personal loss while trying to get back to their everyday lives. Repetitive rituals of the day and the relationship between man and nature establish the film's centre. Contact with nature and nature itself are the predominant theme of the picture that urges you to pay attention and to interpret what you see in your own way. (Febiofest)
