Felix has hit rock bottom. Since leaving his wife Valerie, the cellist no longer sees the point of living – she was, after all, his one great love. In order to find closure with the past, the now incalculably cynical musician returns to the scene of the break-up – a hotel in Ticino. Here he meets a young lawyer named Thomas, and the two men, whose characters could not be more different, engage in a dialogue about love, loyalty and transience. Thomas also separated from a woman here once, one with whom he had a purely physical relationship. What Thomas doesn’t know is that Felix suspects that this woman was ‘his’ Valerie and in his despair begins a game that is as abysmal as it is confusing. (Zurich Film Festival)
