The two writers Dulal and Mainak dream of rubbing shoulders with the screenwriters of Bollywood. Unfortunately, these two oddball characters have a huge deficit when it comes to manners and seriousness. While running from one producer to another in an unsuccessful attempt at drumming up interest in their film idea, ‘Sulemani Keeda’, they stumble upon the playboy and wannabe star Gonzo, the son of a famous cinema tycoon, who promptly commissions them to write a screenplay. Their goal is finally within reach – but Dulal falls head over heels in love with the captivating photographer Ruma, who has plans of her own... (Zurich Film Festival)

Even though Bollywood has the largest film industry in the world, no one rivals it in terms of quantity, not even Hollywood. But even in Bollywood, it's not easy to come up with a captivating screenplay, which is also the basic plot of the movie Writer. Mostly, however, it is a film about two young men who have a dream, but also live a fairly ordinary life. It's not provincial, just nicely human.
