Set in the 1930s, a plan is in place. The assassination plot is intended to take out a pro-Japanese group. Yeom Seok-Jin (Lee Jung-Jae) is an agent from the interim government. He plans out the assassination plot and gives orders to An Ok-Yoon (Gianna Jun). An Ok-Yoon is a deadly sniper and she works with fellow comrades Soksapo (Cho Jin-Woong) and Hwang Deok-Sam (Choi Duk-Moon). She takes on the mission due to her strong desire to see Korea's independence. Meanwhile, the aptly titled Hawaii Pistol (Ha Jung-Woo), another contract killer and his partner Younggam (Oh Dal-Su) are hired to take out An Ok-Yoon and her assassination team. There are many twists and turns that will leave you guessing and each team is determined to "take out" each other, before the cusp of World War II, as the Japanese imperialist army gathers more control on the Asian continent. English South Koreans show that for them, a genre mix, somewhat in the style of Gangs of New York, isn't a big problem, and they can handle it in their own way. With grace, with style, and most importantly, with a story that's not bad at all, one that is intriguingly developed, and the ending leads to a satisfactory conclusion. It might not be as grand as it seems, but it's definitely excellent. ()
