Reviews of this series by the user Necrotongue (39)

Mac-Liv-Moore (2018) (S04E09)

English In the previous episode, I was pleased by Stacey Boss, this time the creators made me happy with the return to the Dragon's Lair and "vampire" Steve. I think it was a great shame not to exploit more of the rapper's brain, there was a decent potential that remained untapped. Fortunately, Blaine's plan for promoting the medicine saved everything. ()

Yipee Ki Brain, Motherscratcher! (2018) (S04E10)

English I didn't have any significant problems with the tenth episode, it was exactly the relaxing comedy that I expected from this series. Liv's detective brain entertained me (the salmon attack was great) and Ravi as a chicken was a funny bonus. ()

Insane in the Germ Brain (2018) (S04E11)

English I really hate such alarm clocks, I was having a good time the whole time because the story had humor and the plot was running smoothly, but suddenly the creators decided that it was time to remind me that CW is primarily for young women (girls) and very emotional viewers, and they ruined the ending of the episode for me with a brutal tear-jerker that strongly disgusted me. ()

You've Got to Hide Your Liv Away (2018) (S04E12)

English The twelfth episode fortunately did not bring me any unpleasant surprises like the previous one, so I could go back to the usual four stars. Besides a few less happy moments, the plot of the story was interesting, had a decent pace, and occasionally even had some humor, so why not? ()

And He Shall Be a Good Man (2018) (S04E13)

English The final episode of the fourth season didn't start off badly at all, I was enjoying it, but after the attack of Angus' sheep on the barricades, everything changed. It became intensely emotional again, Major Lillywhite achieved an unexpected career advancement, but the hardest blow was the wedding in the district. WTF? Rarely do you see such painfully transparent matters, like the wedding gift, I still say how much I like that I don't have to think too much while watching this series, but too much is too much. ()

Season 5 (2019) (S05)

English The final season was a success. Well, a success... There were episodes that were rather dull, and I even had to turn the other blind eye so as not to rate them with just two stars. On the plus side, there were also episodes that I greatly enjoyed which improved my overall impression. ()

Thug Death (2019) (S05E01)

English A pleasant surprise. While I noticed a slight dialing back of the humor from the creators, it didn't detract from my enjoyment one bit. The narrative flowed beautifully, weaving a plot that surpassed my expectations. Sure, there were a few hiccups along the way, but only minor ones. ()

Dead Lift (2019) (S05E02)

English The second episode carries on the momentum from the first, delving deeper into the tension between the two camps. Against this backdrop, the creators shed light on another form of fanaticism — some kneel before a crucified athlete, some pound their heads against the ground, others tap their veins. Different rituals, same old nonsense. ()

Five, Six, Seven, Ate! (2019) (S05E03)

English While the third episode seems to have struck a chord with many viewers, it oddly didn't quite hit the mark for me. Perhaps it's because I kept wondering why Ravi didn't fully delve into the dancer's skull content. Moreover, the episode felt overly emotional at times, even melodramatic, with humor that felt a bit too forced. ()

Dot Zom (2019) (S05E04)

English Well, the case of the dead visionary didn't exactly grab my attention, but what really caught me off guard was how the creators weaved in the tense atmosphere between the rival factions. Instead of leaning on humor, they leaned into the drama, and it was surprisingly watchable. ()

Death Moves Pretty Fast (2019) (S05E05)

English This time around, the creators really got me with their humor, and I walked away much happier compared to the third episode. Blaine's hilarious "courtship dance" and the sneaky Alzheimer attack had me in stitches. Plus, they kept ramping up the tension, and I'm up for that. ()

The Scratchmaker (2019) (S05E06)

English The episode left much to be desired. Blaine's storyline didn't capture my attention; it felt like a series of different interest groups talking about how to get/save money. It didn't engage me either as a comedy or as a drama. The only bright spot was Mr. Boss. ()

Filleted To Rest (2019) (S05E07)

English In contrast to the previous episode where I found the events lacking, this time around, I had no complaints. The seventh episode was action-packed and had a well-intertwined plot. While the humor may have been a bit weak, overall, I had a good time. ()

Death of a Car Salesman (2019) (S05E08)

English There was certainly no shortage of events, including a debate about Seattle's future. However, despite this, I found myself less entertained. The episode lacked excitement, and the storyline involving the discovered father seemed to slow down the overall pace of the narrative. ()

The Fresh Princess (2019) (S05E09)

English Despite the apparent importance of the events, I found little to enjoy. Much of it felt underwhelming, and the family gathering at Liv's was the final straw for me. It was just too much to bear. ()

Night And The Zombie City (2019) (S05E10)

English The only saving grace that prevented me from rating this lower was the film noir ambiance, a genre I'm rather partial to. However, I'm baffled by what's happened to the creators this season. The first half left a much stronger impression on me. Now, the plot feels sluggish and uninspired, with contrived twists that weigh it down. I'm apprehensive about what the last three episodes have in store. ()

Killer Queen (2019) (S05E11)

English As for the murder investigation subplot, it failed to captivate me. Thankfully, the rest of the storyline was decent. ()

Bye, Zombies (2019) (S05E12)

English Episode twelve was an absolute blast from start to finish. The creators nailed the variation on Ocean's Eleven, balancing humor and drama with finesse. As far as I'm concerned, this was the best episode of the entire fifth season. ()

All's Well That Ends Well (2019) (S05E13)

English The season finale, and in fact, the entire series, wasn't without its flaws. But honestly, I braced myself for a much worse ending. The creators didn't drown it in melodrama, and wrapped things up fairly gracefully, all things considered. ()
