Christ’s last days of fasting in the desert as he walks back to civilization. In the midst of the harsh landscape, fatigued and hallucinating, Christ is met by the Devil, who is eager to test and tempt the weary traveler. Firstly, I'm finding that I have less and less affection for religious stories, even those that portray the character of Jesus quite realistically, albeit with a touch of fantasy, as is the case here. But the fantasy comes from the way the film tries to enter his soul. Secondly, this film is just an artistic bore. And that's it.
