Season 1 (2015) (S01)

English I was looking forward to a real horror series with a chilling atmosphere and brutal violence. Instead, I got an action comedy full of one-liners and brutal violence. Since I like black humor, I quickly adapted to the new situation and was able to enjoy the ride with Ash and his crew. With the exception of Episode 4, I had a hell of a good time. ()

El Jefe (2015) (S01E01)

English I wasn’t sure what to expect from this series — whether it would follow the original horror vibe or lean more towards the horror-comedy style of the second movie. The creators clearly chose the latter, blending comedy with brutal violence. While I didn't find much horror in the first episode, the mix of humor and gory mayhem worked really well for me. I had a blast. ()

Bait (2015) (S01E02)

English The second episode could easily be titled "Dinner at Kelly's." This time, I knew what to expect, so I was ready for some good fun, and it delivered. Bruce Campbell's Ash gives a whole new meaning to "old school." My only gripe is the overly politically correct cast lineup. ()

Books from Beyond (2015) (S01E03)

English I had a blast once again! Summoning "some lesser demon" turned out exactly as I expected, giving my diaphragm a good workout during the third episode. The demon itself was well-crafted, and to top it off, Xena made an appearance. ()

The Host (2015) (S01E05)

English While the pace wasn't exactly thrilling, the demon exorcism was well-executed, complete with holy waterboarding and an oral birth. As a horror-comedy, this series hits the mark perfectly for me. ()

The Killer of Killers (2015) (S01E06)

English This episode had me laughing the most so far. Ash's tragic attempts to impress the waitress with cheesy Top Gun lines were hilarious, and the ensuing epic massacre totally floored me. Kelly stealing the spotlight with her moment was especially amusing. ()

Fire in the Hole (2015) (S01E07)

English Compared to the previous episode, this one was a bit weaker, though Lem's long johns might haunt my dreams. It's strange that after seven episodes, Ash's crazy talk still entertains me. The militia seemed pretty weak — they wouldn't stand a chance against Vaas's crew. ()

Ashes to Ashes (2015) (S01E08)

English Oh man, it's been ages since I first saw this cabin. It still has that amazing, romantic vibe that’s made many a girl lose her head. I have to admit, though, the Ash vs. Ash showdown didn't quite live up to the epic fight with his own hand. ()

Bound in Flesh (2015) (S01E09)

English Another solid episode, full of Ash's sharp wit and an endless flow of blood, guts, and body parts. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that Ruby is actually Abdul Alhazred! I always imagined him as some bearded, wrinkled old Arab guy. ()

The Dark One (2016) (S01E10)

English The season finale stayed true to the series' blend of humor, action, and gore. I had a blast watching it, and the creators even threw in some more of those outrageous "oral births" as a bonus. There was never a dull moment, and after an ending like that, I can't wait for the next season! ()

Season 2 (2016) (S02)

English Season 2 was a huge disappointment. After the first season, I was looking forward to a great mixture of humor, action and brutality. The show tragically failed this time around. The humor which was excellent in Season 1 got rather heavy-going with poop jokes that would only be worthy of a mediocre teen comedy. It even got boring at times, which I didn't expect from Ash at all. I did enjoy the references to the original film, but less is more, there were too many of them. If this is how it’s going to go on, I’m starting to get apprehensive about the third season. ()

Home (2016) (S02E01)

English Season two picked up right where the first season left off, sticking to the winning formula. The story had a solid pace from the start, and the main plotline was introduced nicely. However, I felt the humor was a bit forced this time around, lacking the effortless charm of previous episodes. ()

The Morgue (2016) (S02E02)

English What happened here? The morgue scene hit me with a really unpleasant surprise. The action and brutality were okay, but the humor took a nosedive. It felt like the writers ditched any cleverness for something crude and obvious. I just hope this was a weird one-off misstep. ()

Last Call (2016) (S02E03)

English The biggest issue with this episode wasn’t the slower pace; it was the lack of the fantastic humor from the first season. The action scenes were fine, the brutality was on point, but I just didn’t find myself laughing. It felt like the creators were trying too hard. ()

D.U.I. (2016) (S02E04)

English The theme is a bit of a rip-off of Stephen King's Christine, but that wasn't my main issue. What really bothered me was that all the action and brutal scenes felt hollow without the good humor, and the story seemed to stall. Plus, Pablo’s character is starting to get on my nerves. ()

Confinement (2016) (S02E05)

English Finally, an episode that grabbed my attention! While the humor was still a bit off, the action at the station had real intensity, and I was genuinely entertained. I'm hopeful that the show is getting back to the quality I loved in the first season. ()

Trapped Inside (2016) (S02E06)

English It was nice to reminisce about the original Evil Dead film, but overall, this episode felt like filler. There was practically no plot development, and Pablo was really getting on my nerves. ()

Delusion (2016) (S02E07)

English Ugh, that half-hour felt like three hours. Time dragged on, and I couldn't quite grasp the creative direction. First, the humor started fading from the series, and now it seems the action and brutality have followed suit, leaving us with a weak attempt at a psychological horror without the horror. For me, it fell flat — Ash without violence and humor just doesn't work. ()

Ashy Slashy (2016) (S02E08)

English What a relief! After the disappointing seventh episode, this one came through with everything the previous one lacked. It was packed with bloody action, and there were even moments that made me laugh. I would have given it five stars if it weren’t for the unnecessary and tasteless moments that felt out of place. ()

Home Again (2016) (S02E09)

English The creators nailed it with a fantastic nod to the original film. The change of setting did wonders for the season, bringing the series back to the brilliance of the first season. I genuinely enjoyed this episode, and by the end, I couldn’t believe thirty minutes had already passed. ()
