Season 1 (2015) (S01)

English I was looking forward to a real horror series with a chilling atmosphere and brutal violence. Instead, I got an action comedy full of one-liners and brutal violence. Since I like black humor, I quickly adapted to the new situation and was able to enjoy the ride with Ash and his crew. With the exception of Episode 4, I had a hell of a good time. ()

El Jefe (2015) (S01E01)

English I wasn’t sure what to expect from this series — whether it would follow the original horror vibe or lean more towards the horror-comedy style of the second movie. The creators clearly chose the latter, blending comedy with brutal violence. While I didn't find much horror in the first episode, the mix of humor and gory mayhem worked really well for me. I had a blast. ()

Bait (2015) (S01E02)

English The second episode could easily be titled "Dinner at Kelly's." This time, I knew what to expect, so I was ready for some good fun, and it delivered. Bruce Campbell's Ash gives a whole new meaning to "old school." My only gripe is the overly politically correct cast lineup. ()

Books from Beyond (2015) (S01E03)

English I had a blast once again! Summoning "some lesser demon" turned out exactly as I expected, giving my diaphragm a good workout during the third episode. The demon itself was well-crafted, and to top it off, Xena made an appearance. ()

The Host (2015) (S01E05)

English While the pace wasn't exactly thrilling, the demon exorcism was well-executed, complete with holy waterboarding and an oral birth. As a horror-comedy, this series hits the mark perfectly for me. ()

The Killer of Killers (2015) (S01E06)

English This episode had me laughing the most so far. Ash's tragic attempts to impress the waitress with cheesy Top Gun lines were hilarious, and the ensuing epic massacre totally floored me. Kelly stealing the spotlight with her moment was especially amusing. ()

Fire in the Hole (2015) (S01E07)

English Compared to the previous episode, this one was a bit weaker, though Lem's long johns might haunt my dreams. It's strange that after seven episodes, Ash's crazy talk still entertains me. The militia seemed pretty weak — they wouldn't stand a chance against Vaas's crew. ()

Ashes to Ashes (2015) (S01E08)

English Oh man, it's been ages since I first saw this cabin. It still has that amazing, romantic vibe that’s made many a girl lose her head. I have to admit, though, the Ash vs. Ash showdown didn't quite live up to the epic fight with his own hand. ()

Bound in Flesh (2015) (S01E09)

English Another successful episode, in which the creators built on the witty remarks of sharply intelligent Ashe and the constant flow of blood, organs, and other body parts. To my great surprise, I also discovered that Ruby is Abdul Alhazred, which pleased me. I had always thought that he would be some bearded and wrinkled Arab peasant. ()

The Dark One (2016) (S01E10)

English The finale of the first season did not disappoint me, it continued in the spirit of the whole series, so humor was again in the first place and actions and violence followed suit. I enjoyed it greatly, and as a bonus, the creators added more oral childbirths. Boredom was not a threat, and after such a conclusion, I can only look forward to the next series. ()

Season 2 (2016) (S02)

English Season 2 was a huge disappointment. After the first season, I was looking forward to a great mixture of humor, action and brutality. The show tragically failed this time around. The humor which was excellent in Season 1 got rather heavy-going with poop jokes that would only be worthy of a mediocre teen comedy. It even got boring at times, which I didn't expect from Ash at all. I did enjoy the references to the original film, but less is more, there were too many of them. If this is how it’s going to go on, I’m starting to get apprehensive about the third season. ()

Home (2016) (S02E01)

English The first episode of the second season nicely followed the first season, the creators correctly adhered to the established model and the story had a decent pace from the very beginning, introducing the main plot of the series to the viewer. I just had the feeling that the humor lacked lightness this time and that it was sometimes pushed too hard. ()

The Morgue (2016) (S02E02)

English What happened? At the morgue, I got a really unpleasant surprise. The action and brutal scenes were basically fine, but the humor practically died out because the creators abandoned intelligence and came up with something first-plan vulgar, and I just hope it was some strange slip-up. ()

Last Call (2016) (S02E03)

English The biggest problem of the episode was not the slower pace, but it bothered me that I didn't get the excellent humor from the first season again. The action scenes were cool again, the brutality was also at a good level, but somehow I stopped laughing in this series because once again I had the feeling that the creators were rather forcing me to do so. ()

D.U.I. (2016) (S02E04)

English The topic of the fourth episode somewhat borrows from King's Christine, but that wasn't the main issue for me. What bothered me more was that all the action and brutal scenes without good humor felt terribly barren, and the story somehow stopped moving forward. Furthermore, the character Pablo is slowly but surely starting to get on my nerves. ()

Confinement (2016) (S02E05)

English Finally, I have once again enjoyed an episode that caught my interest. The humor was lacking this time, but the storyline at the station had its merits and I had a good time once again. I would like to believe that the creators are returning to the quality that I got used to in the first season. ()

Trapped Inside (2016) (S02E06)

English In the comment about the previous episode, I wrote about hope for a better development of the series, but I was hoping in vain. It was nice to reminisce about the original Evil Dead film, but overall, the sixth part felt like mere filler. There was practically no development in the story, and Pablo was really annoying me. ()

Delusion (2016) (S02E07)

English Ugh, that was at least a three-hour half hour. Time dragged on like high-quality honey, and somehow I couldn't grasp the creative intention. First, the humor started to fade from the series, and now it was accompanied by action with brutality, leaving only some kind of attempt at psychological horror without the actual horror. For me, it was a weakness; Ash without violence and humor simply didn't work for me. ()

Ashy Slashy (2016) (S02E08)

English And again, phew. This time it was a sigh of relief, after the bad seventh episode came the eighth part practically with everything that was missing in the previous one. It was full of bloody action, I even had something to laugh about, and I would rate it with five stars if it wasn't for unnecessary steps into the area of bad taste, which were completely unnecessary. ()

Home Again (2016) (S02E09)

English With a great memory of the original film, the creators came up with something. The change of environment in the season was very beneficial and the series returned to the right track, which was left by the first season. This time, I really enjoyed it and at the end, I couldn't believe that thirty minutes had passed. ()
