A lonely widower who rambles about his home in search of distraction, Guan eagerly looks forward to the annual family dinner with his four adult children, who are now scattered across China. But this year, all of kids prove too busy to make the trip, and each independently contacts Guan to cancel their visits. Refusing to be denied, Guan sets out on a cross-country tour, visiting each of the children in turn and discovering surprising new aspects of their lives. (St. Louis International Film Festival)
