Sonita

Sonita, a teenage Afghan refugee in Iran, dreams of becoming a rapper as famous as her idols Rihanna and Michael Jackson. She sees in her music a form of liberation and transformation, even though in Iran women are forbidden from making music. Anyway, Sonita's mother has other plans for her: return to Afghanistan and sell her into marriage for 9 000 dollars, with which her brother will be able to buy his future wife.
