From studio BONES, the creators of Fullmetal Alchemist and Soul Eater, comes My Hero Academia, a superhero origin story that soars to the top of the class. Izuku has dreamt of being a hero all his life - a lofty goal for anyone, but especially challenging for a kid with no superpowers. That's right, in a world where 80% of the population has some kind of superpowered "quirk," Izuku was unlucky enough to be born completely normal. But that's not going to stop him from enrolling in one of the world's most prestigious hero academies. Now, the only thing standing between him and his first class is the academy's formidable entrance exam - nothing a little private tutoring from the world's mightiest hero can't solve. My Hero Academia (2016)

English I absolutely loved this Shōnen and I believe that in Shōnen jump it accomplishes exactly what a manga is supposed to accomplish – friendship, hard work, and winning! I liked it, I'm glad for the second season and I think it really is a very high quality Shōnen. Better than all those Titans, SAO and Tokyo Ghouls combined. I liked it mainly because it was very good at conveying emotions. But I understand that this isn't everyone's cup of tea. Of course it has its weaknesses and you can definitely see that it follows the well-trodden successful formula, but for me it has the right spark I look for in a Shōnen. A weaker 5 stars. ()

Season 4 (2019) (S04)

English I've read that it's not the same when he's chasing some strange girl. After watching it, I'm like, "Excuse me?" It’s the same. The girl isn't a stranger, they're heroes, no one is a stranger to them, everyone is worth saving, and that's exactly what this series shows. Among other things. Dark times are looming, and somehow society has to deal with it. That's what it's about, too, and that hesitation ends in flames. The last two episodes were just Shōnen-esque yumminess. We got a hyped up start that continued with all the consequences into the second half and it was still a good show, even if it slowed down. Except for the part where they played kindergarten, it was a very above average anime and as I’ve already written, it ended great. The last two episodes knew how to nail you to your chair with their intensity. Who would have expected that. Sure, the previous series was a bit better; this one unfolded nicely too, whether we're talking about the school festival or Gentle Criminal (again, a different type of fight, and it's good that it was there because it helps Midori grow). My Hero Academia is still my favorite current Shōnen, and this series merely reinforces that. It's got it all, yet again – hope, battles, suspense, poignancy, and amusement in a hilarious mix. Not to mention that all the characters are getting us somewhere, we're always learning something new about them, and even the enemy doesn't sleep; whether it’s the bad guys or the general fear or uncertainty. A very strong 4 stars. ()

Season 5 (2021) (S05)

English I'll put it simply – this Shōnen is just awesome. It suits me so well, I find it very well developed, which of course brings with it a certain overload of characters, but somehow it makes sense to me. Before watching this season, I rewatched the previous ones, and it seemed to me like a seamless continuation of what we've already seen, which is why I didn't mind at all that we saw the A's fighting the B's. I think this knowledge of the characters will still come in handy in the upcoming battle. However, if it was all for nothing, then that will really piss me off and I'll going down a star with the rating. This series is a drumbeat. "Let it be known...!!!" I'm not saying I liked it 100%, but I liked it enough to sacrifice a few hours of sleep for it, which is the most precious commodity for me these days. I enjoyed it, I liked the small and big fights, as well as the infiltration of the Todoroki family. But what I loved the most was the "interplay" between Bakugo and Deku. It's what I'd been craving and honestly it came much sooner than I expected. Awesome. While this series may be the weaker link of the whole, even weak links have fans. I am one of them. ()
