An adaptation of the Biblical parable, this film version of David and Goliath stars Orson Welles as the brooding King Saul, whose grip on his kingdom is slipping - even at the height of his infamy. But the only way to oust him from the throne is if someone defeats Goliath, as a one-on-one battle with Goliath determines the victor of the current face-off between the Israelites and the Philistines. The prophets predict that David (Ivo Payer), a young Shepard, will be king. But first, he must challenge the nine-foot tall giant to a battle. The task seems impossible and the prophets' prediction seems to be erroneous, but somehow, the young herder is victorious and becomes the ruler of Israel. After all, the Bible does say, "Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth…" (Echo Bridge Entertainment)
