A very touching documentary about a young mother, Amina, sentenced to death after being found guilty of murdering her husband. Yemeni director Khadija Al-Salami was told she would not be able to shoot inside the women's prison, yet managed to spend time there interviewing Amina, who claims to be innocent, and recording her daily routine. Gradually this becomes a film not just about Amina's situation, but also that of many other women in the prison. This is a daring look into a society in which manipulative male power often condemns women to all sorts of misfortune. (Dubai International Film Festival)
