Hang in There, Kids!

Three inseparable friends live high in the mountains of Taiwan. Watan lives only with his grandmother and is happy when his older brother comes home. But the brother is soon tempted into some unfair business. Chen Hao Lin lives just with his father, a farmer, because his mother left him when he was little. James has three sisters and has to deal with his father's alcoholism. All three go to small local school where their afternoon activities are watched over by an old handicapped teacher who, because of a car accident, lost her opportunity to become a singer. Her pupils discover her secret and get her song played on the radio in Taipei, when the school is on a field trip. Chen Hao Lin decides to try to find his mother and James and a friend go to his father's concert and he's very surprised to see his son. (Zlín Film Festival)
