Eleven-year-old Sultan lives in a rather cold family environment. His new stepmother now rules the roost; she wants him to throw out his goldfish and forbids him any contact with his grandmother. When the boy finds his grandma's picture, it pushes him to seek her out despite his father's ban. He and his best friend Saud embarks on a long journey from Abu Dhabi to Fujairah. On the way they meet a man who gets them out of trouble and takes them home. There Sultan meets an old woman who provides him comfort and allows him to call her grandma. The journey not only gives Sultán his dream, but he learns the true nature of friendship and family. The film is one of the latest films for young audiences to come out of the United Arab Emirates, and it takes audiences far from the big cities into the interior of the country. (Zlín Film Festival)
