Isidoro, known by everyone as Easy, is lonely and depressed. His career as a young go-kart driver was interrupted when he began to gain so much weight he was not able to get into the seat any more. So he went back to live with his mother, and now passes his days in front of the TV, eating diet food. One day, his brother Filo – brilliant and successful – turns up with a job offer for him. It is a simple job, just so he can get out of the house and finally be behind the steering-wheel again: he has to take a coffin from Italy to a small village in the Carpathians, in Ukraine. But this journey to an unknown land can turn out to be much more complicated than planned... (Locarno Festival)

I do not claim that Easy is necessarily a bad film, and if you can tune in to its style, it can be quite entertaining. However, there was a certain superficiality, inconsistency, and simplicity when working with motifs and story elements that bothered me about it. Despite all the efforts to create a poetic road movie full of absurd humor, and social and cultural contrasts, I find the humor too often relying on the perpetually absent expression of its protagonist and his excessive proportions. The individual gags are installed in a deus ex machina style but there should be some kind of path leading to them, or they should be a result of previous development. The individual scenes did not ultimately merge into something that surpasses them, and most importantly, in the end, I must state that it is not nearly as clever as it originally seemed. Overall impression: 45%.
