Silvia and Andrea were both born around the new millennium. Together they own and run a farm in Roncone, in the Valle del Chiese in Northern Italy’s Trentino-Alto Adige. They lead a simple but also somewhat hard life. When they meet up with friends in the local bars and clubs, they still need to get up early to look after their livestock. They have pigs, horses, and a donkey. Three times a week Silvia makes cheese and Andrea delivers their freshly baked bread to the neighbourhood on a daily basis, while Silvia looks after the horses. She is passionate about “reining”, a special skill in Western Riding. She is good at it and trains hard whenever she has the time. In spite of their rural surroundings, the couple are equipped with all the digital paraphernalia of our time and are constantly in contact with their friends. This makes them part of Generation Y, the generation that has grown up with the Internet, those born around the time of the new millennium. Via Internet, Silvia discovers that she could perfect her reining skills in Texas, the cradle of Western Riding, if she were to spend six months there. This would-be opportunity causes a crisis between her and her partner. Can she leave him and the farm for six months?
