In Spain in 1937, a republican officer Ramón Mercader is recruited by the soviet secret service to murder Leon Trotsky. Ramón travels to Paris posing as a Belgian playboy. There he seduces Sylvia, a young Trotskyite. In 1940 they reunite in Mexico, the country where Trotsky lives in exile and Sylvia works as his secretary. Oblivious to the true plans of her beloved she introduces him to the inner circle of his objective. (Morelia International Film Festival)
