American Horror Story revolves around the Harmons, a family of three who moved from Boston to Los Angeles as a means to reconcile past anguish. The all-star cast features Dylan McDermott as Ben Harmon, a psychiatrist; Connie Britton as Vivien Harmon, Ben’s wife; Taissa Farmiga as Violet, the Harmon’s teenage daughter; Jessica Lange in her first-ever regular series TV role as Constance, the Harmon’s neighbour; Evan Peters plays Tate Langdon, one of Ben’s patients; and Denis O’Hare as Larry Harvey. Guest stars for the series include Frances Conroy as the Harmon’s housekeeper; Alexandra Breckenridge as the Harmon’s housekeeper; and Jamie Brewer as Constance’s daughter. Cult (2017) (S07)
I found the seventh season of American Horror Story competes with the previous season for the place of the worst one that has been filmed so far. However, most importantly, it is about a cult, and the danger of a cult of personality is pretty well depicted. Despite that, it is as if the producers did not know what to do anymore, so they threw in some weird family relationships, clowns, murderers, and madmen who were all lumped together in a narrative playing at being a crime drama.

Apocalypse (2018) (S08)
American Horror Story: Apocalypse is another example of producers wanting to be very original, different, and interesting. However, in the end, all that comes out are overwrought gossipy pieces that I do not enjoy and only watch when I have nothing else to do. The eighth season is an example of this, and I hope that the ninth season will really be a slasher horror. I am not going to bet on it, though.

1984 (2019) (S09)
The season of American Horror Story: 1984 shows that it is possible to make an original slasher movie. It does not necessarily mean that everyone is going to like it. However, this one is imaginative, the killers are not bad, and most importantly, there are characters that I really liked. Plus, visually, it is very 80s, although it is a bit over the top.
