Narrated by winner Judi Dench, this life affirming, true story is about a rescue mission that saved 10,000 children from persecution by the Nazi government of Germany. In the nine months just prior to World War II, the British government and a handful of dedicated volunteers worked feverishly to transport children from German territories to foster homes and hostels in Great Britain. The personal accounts of 12 rescued Kinder (children), two rescuers, and two parents make up the heart of this film, creating a very personal window into this unique and little-known historical event.
