This episode gives a strong impression of slapstick, as the main movement consists of chaotic running-around, what undoubtedly catches the eye is the effect created by the journalists charging at the camera. This detail makes the whole scene unusually lively. On the other hand, we can see that the director was more concerned with the trial itself than with the suffering Dreyfus experienced in prison.
