The Troupe

When a band of travelling actors perform a conjugal drama involving adultery, the audience of peasants attack them. A young soldier takes their side, and, sought for desertion from the army, he joins the troupe as they rattle across the countryside in their caravan. What first seemed to be a lucky escape for him becomes a series of rocambolesque adventures full of danger but also of love. (Montreal World Film Festival)
