The film presents history of fascinating discoveries by archaeologists, palaeoanthropologists and other scientists working on slopes of Pálava in Southern Moravia. For more than one hundred years, these scientists have been discovering the details of our ancestor's lives and thus writing the history of their field of study. The layout of the Archeopark Pavlov imitates the timeline of the discoveries and skillfully combines animation, original film footage, illustration, photographs and detailed scans of the discoveries. The film, created to be included in the Archeopark exhibition, shows how discoveries of prehistoric animals' bones, stone tools and even graves of our ancestors contribute to scientific understanding of human history. It also shows way archaeology developed as a scientific discipline as well as how romantic notions about mammoth hunters are contrary to the latest scientific knowledge. The impact of these excavation sites on international archaeology is vast, as they have provided the largest and oldest collection of bone remains of modern man on record. (Academia Film Olomouc)
