Season 1 (2017) (S01)

English Compared to the series Narcos El Chapo is pretty weak, at least for the first seven episodes of the opening season. I find the last two episodes from the prison to be a class better than the somewhat drawn-out beginning. But I have a pretty fundamental problem with the character of Mexican drug baron Joaquín Guzmán. I can't believe someone like that could command respect. However, given the improvement in quality toward the end of the season, I'm quite curious about the next one. (65%) ()

Season 2 (2017) (S02)

English The second season is definitely a disappointment for me. While the series has added more momentum and action scenes, that doesn't mean that the quality has gone up with it. The shootouts are chaotic where it's hard to orient oneself, and the fundamental issue with the portrayal of El Chapo hasn't changed at all. The guy simply doesn't command respect, so I still can't believe he could be the most powerful drug lord in Mexico at that time. (60%) ()

Season 3 (2018) (S03)

English Either I've gotten used to it, or the third season is more entertaining than the previous two. The actor portraying El Chapo still seemed bad to me. Only when they shaved off his bushy hair in prison did he suddenly command respect, which is quite paradoxical. (70%) ()
