An ice cream vender in the Lagunilla barrio becomes a boxing champion. In spite of having enormous talent, his aggressive and infantile character drives him to his inevitable defeat. This is a classic Mexican film that reflects on the social elements involved in the protagonist’s failure. With this film, director Alejandro Galindo is considered the social chronicler of urban Mexico City, in the process of modernization. (Morelia International Film Festival)
