English Eric Bress got back behind the camera sixteen years after his début, The Butterfly Effect, and he has not fully convinced me. A group of soldiers in 1944 are haunted by ghosts in Nazi occupied France, but the scares don’t work very well and the ghosts don’t look very good, either. The last act delivers a fairly surprising twist that moves things in a completely different direction and that will also be the decisive factor of whether you will like this film or not. For me, it’s a bit of a spin on one of my favourite films, but it still made me consider a third star. Ghost of War is not totally awful, but it won’t make you write an ode, either. 5/10 ()
