The Storming of the Winter Palace

On the anniversary of the revolution in 1920, Nikolai Evreinov organized a mass spectacle in Petrograd. Unlike the events of autumn 1917, this re-enactment of the storming of the Winter Palace was meticulously captured on film. The result was a film whose theatrically composed footage is often presented as a documentary record of the 1917 events. (Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival)
