Fugain shows up at the police station to report that there’s a body in front of his apartment building. What he doesn’t anticipate is running into Captain Buron, who will submit him to arduous questioning, each sentence more outrageous than the last. (Sitges Film Festival)

English I’m not very familiar with Quentin Dupieux, so I didn't know what I was getting into, but Benoît Poelvoorde is more or less always a guarantee of quality and this time France pleasantly surprised me, not so much with humour, but with ideas, tension and interesting twists (the twist that comes in the 10th minute is perfect), and the finale is very unexpected. For a film that takes place 90% in one room, there are more than enough comic situations. Decent, short and entertaining. 75% ()

English The film is quite weak if you take into consideration Dupieux's filmography, especially after the excellent Reality. A simple comedic concept with an absurdly protracted police interrogation and an even more absurdly protracted witness testimony is done in an embarrassingly primitive and superficial way, without imaginative satire, breaking of expectations or any added value. The characters are intentionally idiots, but they produce little humor and the director also begins to steal from himself (blending the past with the present, physically deformed police officers) and his final point this time also has no power. It’s possible to sit through the running time of less than an hour and a quarter, but one would simply expect something more striking, subversive, sophisticated and complicated from Dupieux. ()
